Resident Evil 7 – 6-Greenhouse

Greenhouse | Walkthrough

Greenhouse is a location closely connected to the old house. You’ll be able to enter it after the first fight against Marguerite, by using the old tunnel. Once you open the door to the yard, you’ll create a shortcut between the two locations. The second, and final, battle with Marguerite (now transformed) will take place in the greenhouse. Defeating her will yield you a lantern, which will allow you to explore the upper floor of the old house. Other than medicine and burner fuel, there’s not much to be found here.

After the phone conversation, go examine the closed door on the upper floor. You’ll need a lantern to act as a counterweigh and open the door – Marguerite has one. Return to the hole in front of the stairs where she’d thrown you. You should see a hand that vanishes in the newly-opened tunnel in the said hole. It leads to the greenhouse.

Once you clear the tunnel, you can take a moment to unlock the door leading to the yard. Then, take the stairs outside to go back up and jump down the hole in the floor. While you have some time on the ground floor, prepare for a fight – you’ll certainly need med-kits, but you can also gather some ammo, if you prefer to fight using firearms rather than fire itself.

Be careful now – on your way to the upper floor you’ll be attacked by a transformed woman, she’ll come through the window. Shoot her! From that moment on, she’ll be all over you – she’s the boss of this location. From time to time she’ll drop in from the attic or from the outside to attack you and quickly go back into hiding.

You can fight her with either fire or guns, by aiming at her abdomen. The building is full of burner fuel, making it the more economic weapon.

Hidden passage in the wall behind the bed

Proceed to the room at the end of the floor, it’s the detention room. The room contains only a children’s bed and a dollhouse – take a look inside. The note inside will tell you of a hidden room behind the bed. Crouch and push the wall to get to the room where you’ll find the D-Series Arm you’ve been looking for.

You can get back to the Altar. Zoe will call you and tell that she’s waiting for you in the trailer in the yard. Once there, however, you’ll get another call, telling you to head for the dissection room in the basement. Before you go, check out the contents of the refrigerator in the trailer – you’ll find a head with a note attached to its back.

Once you’re there, a mutant will attack you right before the dissection room – this one is a bit different than the others, walking on all fours and being more agile, but it makes no difference for the bullets. Inside the dissection room there’s a corpse. According to the board standing beside it, you’ll need to put your hand inside the throat of this thing.

Inside the body, you’ll find the Snake Key. It will allow you to explore new areas on the upper floor. Go back, then, but not before arming yourself – expect increased mutant activity all the way from the main hall.

Optional: acquire the grenade launcher

As you’ve already collected the Crow Key, you can use it to open Supplies room inside the Drawing room. There, you’ll find a grenade launcher – it’ll take up two slots in your equipment and the projectiles for it are scarce, but the firepower is breath-taking.

Resident Evil 7 – 7-Main Bedroom

Main bedroom and children’s room | Walkthrough

Now you can rummage through some locked rooms on the upper floor. First (or second depending on your choice) is the main bedroom, along with a storage containing a rather useful backpack and a passageway to the Workshop in the basement (first keycard). In the children’s room there’s nothing scary nor dangerous, but we could sure use that second key which can be found in the attic.

Take it with you and inflate it with the air that’s leaking from the pipe right of the oven. Once it bursts, you’ll get a quill pen. Put the pen inside the clown’s hand and wind him.

Resident Evil 7 – 8-Testing area and Boat house

Testing Area and Boat house | Walkthrough

The testing area becomes available when you defeat Marguerite in the greenhouse. Then, you must find the D-Series Arm and go back to the semitrailer in the yard. There, you receive a call from Lucas who orders you to get two access cards, which will allow you to open a new path in the yard. This new area is the Testing area, with many traps prepared for you by Lucas. This area leads to the boat house where you will have the last fight in this location.

Warning – be well prepared and collect everything (i.e. secrets and collectibles) when you decide to face Jack.

Next, traverse the hallway and avoid tripwire bombs – small charges that are set by pulling the wire. You can destroy them. The cheapest way to do it is to use the burner.

Be careful, because some boxes may be full of explosives instead of useful rewards. Although they don’t deal a lot of damage, it is safer to shoot them first.

Birthday cake puzzle

If you saw the “Happy Birthday” recording from the kid’s room then you probably know how to solve this puzzle. If you haven’t then check the chapter above. However, if you don’t want to solve it step-by-step perform these actions instead:

  • Take the candle from the clown and carry it to the room with the cake,
  • Go back, light up the candle from the cooker and use it to burn the lace that blocks the door to the next room with balloons,
  • The next lock requires a password – the answer is LOSER,
  • You find a valve inside the room – go to the room with the cake, set it on the pipe near the entrance and turn it,
  • Again, light up the candle and place it on the cake.

You are in the monitoring room – here, you can save the game. Don’t forget to take the head from the desk.

Boat house and the boss fight

From the looks of the hideout you can guess that, soon, you will have to fight a boss. You face Jack again but in a form that you haven’t seen him in before. Prepare your best weapons and have as much First Aid Meds as you can – there is a lot of ammunition in the arena.

You now have only one serum left. You must make a decision – heal Mia or Zoe. The choice has an impact on the ending and the last stage of the game.

Warning – all items gathered during this stage will be given back to Ethan in the final part of the game – make sure to stock up on medicine and ammo.

The pre-ultimate section will see the player control either Zoe or Mia (depending on your choice after the next encounter with Jack) but this detail doesn’t influence the overall course of the stage. You’ll visit the old ship that was used by Mia and Eveline to arrive to this area. Some new weapons will also be unlocked – a P19 machine gun, MPM Handgun, and remote bombs. The corridors of the ship are small and cramped, however the area contains numerous secrets and multiple enemies to defeat.

You’ll travel to an old ship, but first you’ll need to choose between Zoe and Mia. The choice is strictly cosmetic (with minor differences in dialogue). You need to get access to the upper deck (1F). There are two Antique Coins along the way: one is in a ventilation shaft found shortly after seeing two mechanics in the room (turn right at the crossroads and go to the end of the corridor), while the second one can be found once you’ve encountered the girl on the staircase. While you’re at it, a mini-boss will attempt to interrupt you. He is a powerful, durable mutant that spews acid once he is hit in the stomach. Use remote charges (2 or 3 should suffice). The beginning of the journey is rather peaceful. Reach the wooden hut containing a chest – take the best items, and make use of the item creation, as this is the only opportunity found in this area. Resident Evil 7 – Trophy Guide

How to get Platinum trophy and every achievement in Resident Evil VII?

The page tells how to prepare and what to do to get a platinum trophy in Resident Evil VII. You can find a list of playthroughs and information how to play in each one (playthrough devoted to combat achievements and ending 1, devoted to madhouse difficulty and ending 2, devoted to additional challenges).

Remember to check stats often to make sure you didnt fail any of the challenge achievements - How to get Platinum trophy and every achievement in Resident Evil VII? - Trophy Guide / Achievement Guide - Resident Evil VII Game Guide

Remember to check stats often to make sure you didn’t fail any of the challenge achievements

Resident Evil VII is not an easy game to master and to earn a 100% completion (PC, Xbox One versions) or a platinum trophy (PlayStation 4 version). The bare minimum for a 100% completion of the game is doing three playthroughs, but due to some very strict requirements of the hardest achievements you have to be ready for a possibility of doing even more runs.

Your first playthrough should be done on the easy difficulty level. This will not only help you to get familiar with the game, but it’ll also be much easier to get some of the trophies related to fighting enemies. Try to get all of them during this playthrough. You should also use this playthrough to find all collectibles – antique icons, files, video tapes and Mr. Everywhere statues. After the boathouse fight choose who should receive the serum and remember this choice, because it will lead to one of two available endings.

Your second playthrough should be done on the newly unlocked madhouse difficulty level. During this playthrough pay attention to the “Mad Pelicans” achievement which forces you to find new antique coins. Also, don’t forget to give the other person the serum after the boathouse fight so that you’ll watch the second available ending at the end of your run.

Additional playthroughs should be devoted to:

  • Finishing the game in less than 4 hours (Just Get Me Outta Here)
  • Finishing the game using First Aid Med no more than 3 times (Walk It Off)
  • Finishing the game using the item box no more than 3 times (Resource Manager)

All of these requirements should be done while playing on the easy difficulty setting. If you’re REALLY good you can attempt all of them in a single playthrough, but it’s much more comfortable to split them to 2 or even 3 additional playthroughs.

Important – If you’re struggling with the bosses on the Madhouse difficulty level try doing the speedrun playthrough first. Completing it will grant you access to a circular saw and this weapon comes in handy in some of the toughest battles, like the one with Marguerite in the greenhouse.

Important – Remember that the game offers detailed stats and most of them are about things tied to achievement requirements. You can view the stats at any moment after pausing the game. Use this often to check if you didn’t use an item too many times or if your playthrough time is good enough to keep playing.

1st Place at the Science Fair Achievement

You combine the items in the second tab of the inventory - 1st Place at the Science Fair Achievement | Resident Evil VII Trophy Guide - Trophy Guide / Achievement Guide - Resident Evil VII Game Guide

You combine the items in the second tab of the inventory

Requirement: Craft all items that use Chem Fluid and Strong Chem Fluid as a component.

Comment: This achievement is related to crafting: you can use Chem Fluid that you come across (both normal and the Strong version) and craft new items. E.g. combining chemicals and Herb will let you craft medicine, and combining it with Gunpowder will let you create ammo. Use Combine section to combine your items.

The available combinations are:

  • Herb + Chem Fluid = First Aid Med
  • Herb + Strong Chem Fluid = Strong First Aid Med
  • Gunpowder + Chem Fluid = Handgun Ammo
  • Gunpowder + Strong Chem Fluid = Enhanced Handgun Ammo
  • Solid Fuel + Chem Fluid = Burner Fuel
  • Solid Fuel + Strong Chem Fluid = Flame Rounds (ammo for the grenade launcher)
  • Supplements + Chem Fluid = Psychostimulants
  • Supplements + Strong Chem Fluid = Neuro Rounds (poisoned ammo for grenade launcher)

Back Off, Mrs. B! Achievement

Attack Marguerite using a burner. - Back Off, Mrs. B! Achievement | Resident Evil VII Trophy Guide - Trophy Guide / Achievement Guide - Resident Evil VII Game Guide

Attack Marguerite using a burner.

Requirements: You must fight Marguerite in the old house and make her flee.

Commentary: Before you try to get this achievement, build a burner first in the old house. You can find its parts next to the save game point by the water (Burner Grip) and in the water station on the east part of the map (Burner Nozzle). Try to get Burner Fuel – you can find it e.g. in the same place where the Crow Key is located. Find Marguerite and start attacking her with the burner. You should have enough fuel to make her push Ethan away and flee. In this moment you will unlock the achievement. Don’t forget to heal Ethan.

Important – If you run out of flamer fuel during the attack you don’t have to give up, because you can still unlock the achievement. Just switch to the shotgun or the pistol (use enhanced ammo if possible) and keep attacking Marguerite. The only problem with this tactic is that standard firearms won’t destroy her bugs that easily so you have to be prepared to receive more damage from their attacks.

Can’t Catch Me Achievement

Requirement: Finish the Mia tape level without being spotted by Marguerite - Cant Catch Me Achievement | Resident Evil VII Trophy Guide - Trophy Guide / Achievement Guide - Resident Evil VII Game Guide

Requirement: Finish the “Mia” tape level without being spotted by Marguerite.

Comment: Tape “Mia” is located in the recreational room on level 2F of the main house (see screenshot). Place the tape in the video player and an interactive scene will begin. You will be controlling Mia and your task will be to avoid Marguerite.

1) Reach the subsequent doors - Cant Catch Me Achievement | Resident Evil VII Trophy Guide - Trophy Guide / Achievement Guide - Resident Evil VII Game Guide

1) Reach the subsequent doors. Once you’re in a short corridor, retreat when you hear Marguerite’s footsteps (image above).

2) Wait until Marguerite goes to the room on the right and go to the next room (the one she came from). There’s a puzzle to solve here but you can’t do it yet.

3) Go outside and hide to the right (image above) - Cant Catch Me Achievement | Resident Evil VII Trophy Guide - Trophy Guide / Achievement Guide - Resident Evil VII Game Guide

3) Go outside and hide to the right (image above). Wait until Marguerite shows up in the area, investigates it, and goes away.

4) Now you can interact with the projector and solve the puzzle by rotating the projector so as to make its shadow resemble a spider. Once you solve the puzzle, squeeze in between the walls.

5) In the next area be extra careful - Cant Catch Me Achievement | Resident Evil VII Trophy Guide - Trophy Guide / Achievement Guide - Resident Evil VII Game Guide

5) In the next area be extra careful. Take a few steps forward and hide once you hear Marguerite (image above). Wait until Marguerite walks past Mia and get out of your hiding place very quickly. You must exit the room before Marguerite turns back.

6) Go towards the basement and pay no attention to Marguerite’s comments, because you already meet all the requirements needed to get the achievement. Reach the end of the tunnel and inspect the photograph to complete the scene.

Duck If You Love Life Achievement

1 - Duck If You Love Life Achievement | Resident Evil VII Trophy Guide - Trophy Guide / Achievement Guide - Resident Evil VII Game Guide
Requirement: Crouch to evade Jacks scissor attack - Duck If You Love Life Achievement | Resident Evil VII Trophy Guide - Trophy Guide / Achievement Guide - Resident Evil VII Game Guide

Requirement: Crouch to evade Jack’s scissor attack.

Commentary: An opportunity to get this achievement will present itself during your confrontation with Jack, which takes place in the morgue located in the basement of the main house. The first part of your confrontation with Jack will be a standard fight. Use a shotgun or a pistol to weaken him.

Once you advance to the second part of the fight, Jack will start using giant scissors. He uses three basic attacks:

  • Charge
  • Swinging the scissors three times
  • Trying to cut off Ethan’s head

It’s the third type of attack you must wait for. When you see that Jack is getting ready to go for it (as shown in the first image above), run up to him and duck (second image) to make him miss. Perfect timing of your movements is of key importance. If you’re late, Jack will succeed and cut off Ethan’s head.

Fly Swatter Achievement

1 - Fly Swatter Achievement | Resident Evil VII Trophy Guide - Trophy Guide / Achievement Guide - Resident Evil VII Game Guide
Requirement: Shoot and knock back Marguerite when shes leaping at the main character - Fly Swatter Achievement | Resident Evil VII Trophy Guide - Trophy Guide / Achievement Guide - Resident Evil VII Game Guide

Requirement: Shoot and knock back Marguerite when she’s leaping at the main character.

Comment: You will have a chance to unlock this achievement after you get to the greenhouse (it’s the second old house on the map) and begin a boss battle with mutated Marguerite (the battle will commence after you use the stairs leading to the upper floor of the house).

Don’t try to win the battle (you should repeat it after getting the achievement for a better overall result) and focus solely on completing this achievement. The objective is to knock back Marguerite when she’s trying to leap at Ethan. This occurs not long after Marguerite attaches herself to the ceiling (screenshot 1) or to the wall. It’s recommended to use a shotgun for the purpose of this achievement (screenshot 2). You have to be extra fast so that Marguerite doesn’t hit Ethan before he manages to fire his weapon. Don’t worry if you won’t get the achievement the first (or the second) time and keep trying. You’ll know that you’ve been successful when Marguerite will crawl back to one of the holes after you’ve fired the shotgun.

Just Get Me Outta Here Achievement

Visit the stats menu often to check your current play time - Just Get Me Outta Here Achievement | Resident Evil VII Trophy Guide - Trophy Guide / Achievement Guide - Resident Evil VII Game Guide

Visit the stats menu often to check your current play time

Requirement: Complete the game in under 4 hours.

Comment: This is a quite challenging achievement that requires you to get familiar with the game. Here are some basic tips on doing a good speedrun:

  • Play on the Easy difficulty level and try to finish the game at least once prior to your first attempt. Doing this will give you access to a good new gun (Albert-01R) and, most importantly, you’ll know what to expect, where to go and how to quickly deal with problematic situations.
  • After the boathouse fight consider giving the cure to Mia so that you won’t have to waste additional time on fighting her later on in the game.
  • Don’t waste time on finding collectibles and don’t fight enemies unless it’s absolutely necessary. This applies especially to the creatures from the basement of the main house and to the monsters from the ship. You can run past most of them or quickly choose an alternative path to get around them. Make an exception only if you have plenty of ammo for the shotgun or for the 44 Magnum and if you can quickly dispose of a monster with 1-2 shots.
  • SAVE OFTEN and return to the last manual save if you feel that you’ve spent too much time in one section.

If you don’t make any major mistakes you should finish the game on Easy in less than 3 hours so there’s a lot of time to spare.

VERY IMPORTANT – Returning to the last checkpoint still counts towards the total play time and this means you can lose a lot of precious minutes. The only way to “reset” the timer is to choose ‘End’ from the pause menu and then to load one of the manual saves from the game’s main menu. You can check your current time in the ‘Stats’ window and it’s also displayed in the descriptions of all of your savegames.

Important – Completing a 4 hour speedrun will give you access to a circular saw. This is an extremely useful weapon and it may come in handy when doing a playthrough on the Madhouse difficulty setting.

Less is More Achievement

Commentary: It’s best to wait until you get a shotgun before you try to get this achievement. Once the weapon is yours, you can use it to kill the two monsters in the basement of the main house (remember that they have to get really close to Ethan).

Another opportunity to unlock this achievement will present itself once you reach the old house - Less is More Achievement | Resident Evil VII Trophy Guide - Trophy Guide / Achievement Guide - Resident Evil VII Game Guide

Another opportunity to unlock this achievement will present itself once you reach the old house. When you explore it, you will be attacked by, among others, overgrown flying insects. You can use the shotgun to kill two monsters of this kind (an example of an area where you can get this achievement is shown on the image above), taking advantage of the fact that they are very weak and can be easily killed.

Out Before Dessert Achievement

Requirement: Complete the Happy Birthday videotape scene in under 5 minutes - Out Before Dessert Achievement | Resident Evil VII Trophy Guide - Trophy Guide / Achievement Guide - Resident Evil VII Game Guide

Requirement: Complete the “Happy Birthday” videotape scene in under 5 minutes.

Comment: Videotape named “Happy Birthday” is located in the attic of the main house (see screenshot above). You can’t get to it until you gain possession of a snake key. Use the key to open the kid’s room on floor 2F and then use a ladder to reach the attic (this is the same area where you can find the blue keycard quest item). You must deliver the tape to a video player of your choosing – one of them is in the trailer outside the main house.

The 5 minute time limit means that you must perform all actions without making any longer stops and that you will have to cheat a little by skipping one of the major steps needed to solve the birthday cake puzzle (collecting the telescope, cleaning it with the sprinklers and using it on the monitors).

Important – The timer starts when you gain control over the playable character and it stops when you place the lit candle on the cake. Don’t worry if the whole scene takes a little more than 5 minutes, because the cut-scenes don’t count.

Enter the cake room for the first time

Follow these steps (quickly!) to get the achievement:

Step 1) Take the lit candle from the dummy.

Step 2) Go with the candle to the room with the birthday cake. The candle will be extinguished, however the lights will come on shortly after that and Lucas will explain the rules of his puzzle (you can’t interact with anything until he stops talking).

Step 3) Pull the winding key out of the wine bottle - Out Before Dessert Achievement | Resident Evil VII Trophy Guide - Trophy Guide / Achievement Guide - Resident Evil VII Game Guide

Step 3) Pull the winding key out of the wine bottle.

Step 4) Go to the box on the wall and open the lock by choosing the correct icons from the screenshot above: the left icon must be the hangman, the middle icon must be the bell and the right icon must be the fetus (this is where you’re “cheating”, because you can find out the correct order thanks to using the telescope).

Step 5) Take the straw doll from the box.

Resource Manager Achievement

Chests are located in certain rooms with the save feature. - Resource Manager Achievement | Resident Evil VII Trophy Guide - Trophy Guide / Achievement Guide - Resident Evil VII Game Guide

Chests are located in certain rooms with the save feature.

Requirement: Complete the game without opening the Item Box more than three times.

Comment: It’s the hardest achievement in the game as you need to master the way of managing items in your inventory. In order to unlock this achievement, you must ignore all the chests that you come across (those that you use to keep unwanted items for later). Furthermore, you should only collect items that are essential to survive. You may not leave your items on the ground, as when you decide to throw away an item, it will be destroyed for good.

Tip – Try to find all the backpacks in the game (“In the Bag” achievement) so that you’ll increase the size of your inventory and managing things won’t be so tricky.

Interact with the box for the last (third) time when you get to the hut in the swamps - Resource Manager Achievement | Resident Evil VII Trophy Guide - Trophy Guide / Achievement Guide - Resident Evil VII Game Guide

Interact with the box for the last (third) time when you get to the hut in the swamps

A VERY IMPORTANT information is that you can’t use the item box unless the game requires it to progress in the main story. This occurs exactly three times during the course of the game (twice when you’re dealing with Lucas and his elaborate traps and once after leaving the ship and reaching a small hut in the swamps). In each of these situations interact with the container only once, because the game counts every interaction with it.

Remember – If you are not sure how many times you have opened a chest, pause your game and open the statistics window.

Slash Slash, Slashity Slash! Achievement

Requirement: Use a knife to clear a door of insects - Slash Slash, Slashity Slash! Achievement | Resident Evil VII Trophy Guide - Trophy Guide / Achievement Guide - Resident Evil VII Game Guide

Requirement: Use a knife to clear a door of insects.

Commentary: You can unlock this achievement during the exploration of the old house. Destroying the hive in the east part of the house unlocks access to a secret corridor where Ethan can meet Mia and find the stone statuette. Once the encounter is done, try to go back to the entrance of the old house. You will cross paths with Marguerite, who will make it hard for you to use the door – she will put insects there. You can see the door on the image above. KEEP A SAFE DISTANCE – you don’t want the insects to jump on Ethan. Choose the knife from your inventory and start waving it around. To kill the insects from the lower part of the door you simply have to crouch. You’ll unlock the achievement once you clear the entire door.

If you miss the first opportunity to kill the insects you can also unlock this achievement while exploring the greenhouse (it’s the location where Ethan must fight mutated Marguerite). At least one door in the greenhouse is covered with bugs.

That’s a Spicy Meat-a-Ball! Achievement

Requirement: Kill an enemy by attaching a remote bomb to his body and detonating it - Thats a Spicy Meat-a-Ball! Achievement | Resident Evil VII Trophy Guide - Trophy Guide / Achievement Guide - Resident Evil VII Game Guide

Requirement: Kill an enemy by attaching a remote bomb to his body and detonating it.

Comment: An opportunity to use a remote bomb presents itself not long after reaching the ship later in the game. You must get to the room with Eveline and pick up “Old Videotape” left by her. Begin playing the scene from the videotape and continue progressing until you reach level S2 of the ship. Proceed forward here and run past the first monster you’ll encounter, because it’ll “help you” in earning the achievement in a little bit. You’ll come across the second creature in the next corridor and this one should be killed (preferably with the machine gun). Reach the end of the corridor and notice two remote bombs in a box on the wall (check the screenshot seen above).

Pick up the bombs and choose one of them from the inventory (down on the d-pad by default) - Thats a Spicy Meat-a-Ball! Achievement | Resident Evil VII Trophy Guide - Trophy Guide / Achievement Guide - Resident Evil VII Game Guide

Pick up the bombs and choose one of them from the inventory (down on the d-pad by default). Turn around and wait for the first creature to show up here. Approach the monster and allow it to grab you. The character you’re controlling should land on the ground and you’ll receive a prompt on being able to use the remote bomb (see the screenshot above). Quickly press the button to shove the bomb down the monster’s throat. The creature’s head will explode and you’ll earn the achievement.

Important – The trickiest part of this achievement is to “convince” the creature to perform the grab attack. This should happen straight away assuming you’ll stand close to it. If it doesn’t try again. Remember to do this with the first monster (the one you’ve ignored on your way to the remote bombs).

Important – This isn’t the only area where you can complete this objective. You’ll also find other remote bombs and other monsters later on in the level, however not all creatures will do grab attacks needed to use remote bombs on them.

Another good moment to complete this achievement is when you visit the sick bay on level 3F of the ship - Thats a Spicy Meat-a-Ball! Achievement | Resident Evil VII Trophy Guide - Trophy Guide / Achievement Guide - Resident Evil VII Game Guide

Another good moment to complete this achievement is when you visit the sick bay on level 3F of the ship. You’ll be attacked by a “fat” vomitting version of the monster here. You can approach the creature and it’s very likely that it’ll grab you (see the screenshot above). Use this opportunity to attach a remote bomb to it.

Walk It Off Achievement

First Aid Med - Walk It Off Achievement | Resident Evil VII Trophy Guide - Trophy Guide / Achievement Guide - Resident Evil VII Game Guide

First Aid Med

Requirements: Complete the game without using more than three First Aid Meds.

Comment: It’s a difficult achievement, so you may want to select the Easy difficulty level and also save your game as often as possible. You are forbidden from using more than three First Aid Meds throughout the course of the game. Help yourself with Herbs (they don’t count) whenever possible. You should also wait till you are able to craft Strong First Aid Med which restores all your health. Reserve them for the toughest boss fights.

Remember – If you are not sure how many time you have already used First Aid Med, pause your game and open the statistics window.

Valuable tip - You can find steroids in a few places in the game (example on the screenshot above) - Walk It Off Achievement | Resident Evil VII Trophy Guide - Trophy Guide / Achievement Guide - Resident Evil VII Game Guide

Valuable tip – You can find steroids in a few places in the game (example on the screenshot above). Taking steroids doesn’t affect this achievement. They can heal Ethan and permanently extend his health bar. Check our walkthrough for the locations of the steroids.

Who’s Your Daddy Now? Achievement

Requirement: Complete the game on highest (Madhouse) difficulty.

Comment: Madhouse difficulty level becomes available once you complete the game (on Easy or Normal). It’s much harder than the other two. Here’s what you must be ready for:

  • You don’t have unlimited saves on this difficulty setting. You must be looking for cassette tapes and each tape can be used only once. Obviously this will force you to complete bigger parts of the game before you can save your progress. Be very thorough to find all the tapes along the way and use the knowledge from previous playthroughs to prepare better for confrontations with the games bosses.
  • Enemies and bosses are much stronger. They deal more damage and are more resistant so you must use the tactics from the previous playthroughs to defeat them without losing too much health and without sacrificing too much ammunition.
  • There are less supplies to be found in the game. This means you must avoid all optional confrontations. If you encounter an enemy in a tight space try running past him or go the other way around.
  • New Antique Coins can be found on the Madhouse settings. They’re not only new collectibles, but they can be used to purchase new items. This makes them very valuable, because purchased objects may help you to stay alive.
  • Enemies spawn in different locations (this doesn’t apply to “fixed” boss fights). Don’t expect to encounter them in the same places as in the previous playthroughs.
